What does a hyaluronic acid filler do?

Fillers work differently than botulinum toxin injectables. As the name suggests, fillers are used to fill in lines, wrinkles or lips. Most fillers consist of the substance hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in our skin and is also slowly broken down for these reasons. Fillers with hyaluronic acid are most commonly used in cosmetic surgery, and the effect of the filler also disappears after several months.

Cheap filler treatment?

With hyaluronic acid, pay close attention to the quality and price of the filler. Making quality fillers in a complicated process involving a number of steps to purify the substance. A good filler is purified over many steps and because of this, the price of the product is also higher. Many cheap fillers are not sanitized well enough and therefore cause known issues. If the price elsewhere is much cheaper than usual, this should raise a flag.

At MOOI Clinic, we use only safe fillers of the highest quality with a temporary effect. Always check with the attending physician, what type of fillers she/he works with and what the costs are.

Filling wrinkles and lips

By using fillers in the skin or just below the skin, wrinkles become significantly less visible. That doesn’t mean that your expression changes, only that your wrinkles become less visible as they are temporarily filled. Thismakes you look rejuvenated and rested. In addition, Juvéderm fillers are also widely used to make lips fuller. Your lips retain their natural shape, but appear fuller.

Filler treatment with ^Juvéderm®.

The plastic surgeon or dermatologist injects the hyaluronic acid filler with very thin needles into the area to be treated. The treatment takes about 15 minutes and no anesthesia is necessary. We work with different types of Juvéderm fillers in our clinic. Among others:

JUVEDERM ‘VOLUMA’

This filler is specially designed to restore volume loss in the face. Think sunken temples or cheeks. ^Juvéderm® Voluma brings volume to the face and also stimulates collagen production.

JUVEDERM ‘VOLBELLA’

Do you suffer from crow’s feet, fine lines on your forehead or eyes? Then this filler is good to eliminate these first signs of skin aging. This Volbella filler is also often used for filling narrow lips.

JUVEDERM ‘VOLIFT’

This filler consists of an ultra-smooth gel that is safe and suitable for deep facial wrinkles and crease lines. Consider folds around the nose, deep forehead wrinkles, or marionette lines.

The doctor will tell you about the different types of fillers and ultimately determine which filler or injectable best suits your concerns. After the treatment, your skin is somewhat red and swollen. However, after just a few days, you can already see results. The effect of this filler is temporary, about 9 to 12 months.
