I’ve got you under my skin… Profhilo®
I love skin! For me as a dermatologist, it goes without saying that I am particularly interested in anti-aging, skin rejuvenation and improving incurred (sun) damage to the skin. The range of products available to combat skin aging is vast. There are countless creams, treatments, fillers and injectables to care for and rejuvenate your skin. But what is a good product? What qualities are important and what do you want to spend your time and money on?
At MOOI Clinic, we work exclusively with medical specialists. We evaluate new products coming to market based on science-based results. One such new product, which we are excited about is Profhilo®: an injectable with 100% pure hyaluronic acid without chemical additives.
Not a typical filler
Where “normal” fillers fill in wrinkles, Profhilo® does not add volume under your skin. Instead, Profhilo® hydrates the skin and this injectable prompts skin cells to produce collagen and elastin. This restores your skin’s firmness and health to its various layers. Because your skin gets to work on its own cell renewal, Profhilo® is also known as a natural skin enhancer.
Skin improvement and rejuvenation, for whom?
Profhilo® is an injectable that rejuvenates and improves the skin. It is an anti-aging treatment with a large amount of pure hyaluronic acid with no chemical additives. Also called a true skin booster. After the treatment, your skin will look younger and fresher, a natural result. Fine wrinkles and lines fade and any redness is also reduced.
The Profhilo treatment is suitable for anyone who wants to combat sagging skin from the age of 30 or so. Also, if you want to achieve a natural skin rejuvenating effect, but do not see the step to a “real” filler (yet), this treatment is suitable.
For every piece of skin
The skin on your face, neck and décolleté are treated most often. But this filler is also suitable for fine wrinkles on your hands and actually any piece of skin on your body.
Still have needles inserted into your skin?
Unfortunately, until now there is no cream, ointment or serum, which gives a similar improvement of the skin as injections of hyaluronic acid or a chemical peel. Point. This is because our skin consists of two layers, which are connected by a layer of proteins (collagen, among others). Collagen provides skin firmness, and creams, ointments and serums do not penetrate deep enough into the skin to stimulate collagen production. Fortunately, this does not immediately mean you have to go under the knife to look younger. Depending on the condition of your skin, the stage of skin aging and your needs, we may choose fillers, botox injections, skin boosters, chemical peels or a combination.
Profhilo in combination with other treatments
Profhilo is excellent for improving skin quality and texture. It gives you smoother, more youthful, elastic and radiant skin. What it cannot do, however, is replace lost volume in the face or smooth out deep folds or wrinkles. For that, we recommend hyaluronic acid fillers and/or botulinum toxin injections, both of which can be performed separately or in combination with Profhilo, such as during the same appointment.
