There are several types of facial peels offered on the market. Beauticians and skin therapists also offer peels, but often a light (chemical TCA) peel that penetrates only the first layer of skin (the epidermis). Instead of chemical peels, at MOOI Clinic we now use the Sciton laser to treat your skin.
WHAT IS FENOL?
Phenol provides deep structural improvement, lifting and tightening the skin subcutaneously, so to speak.
WHAT IS TCA?
TCA stands for trichloroacetic acid and provides a more beautiful and even skin on the surface. Thus, a TCA with phenolic peel is an ideal combination to address advancing skin aging.
Different types of chemical peels
A chemical peel can be used in different concentrations and depths. At MOOI Clinic we no longer offer chemical peels. However, we do offer laser treatments. In the initial consultation, the doctor takes extensive time to tell you which treatment is best for you, what the treatment entails and what results you can expect. Risks and possible complications are also discussed.
Who is a deep chemical peel suitable for?
Especially if your skin is severely aged due to skin problems, smoking or the sun, a chemical peel can be a very appropriate treatment. Not everyone is blessed with beautiful healthy skin. For example, if you suffer greatly from acne, or have scars from it, a chemical peel can improve your skin. Also, if you suffer from pigmentation spots in the skin, have coarse pores or have aging skin from the sun, smoking or natural aging, this deep peel is suitable.

Good to know
There may be temporary discoloration or decolorization of the skin after a chemical peel. In some cases, this may even be permanent. Long-term redness may also occur. In very rare cases, there is an allergic reaction to one of the creams used during the pre- and aftercare.
