Medium peel with TCA
A TCA peel is much more intense than a peel with glycolic acid, which is often done by beauticians. This peel is particularly well suited for people whose skin concerns are mainly about skin aging. At MOOI Clinic, treatment is performed only by a cosmetic doctor.
Who is this TCA Peel suitable for?
Suitable for all skin types, this peel is ideal for combating the first signs of skin aging. This usually becomes apparent around age 30. The TCA peel is suitable for reducing:
- Pigmentation spots
- Fine lines
- Large pores
- Skin aging
- Sun damage
- Fallen/gray skin (smoker’s skin)
- Acne (sensitive) skin
Although this TCA peel really improves your skin, it doesn’t address volume loss or deep wrinkles. If you also have those concerns, you can combine this TCA peel with a filler or injectable. Another option is to opt for a deeper chemical peel. Our doctor will advise you on this during the consultation.
The Easy TCA Pain Control Peel
With 15% TCA and a touch of phenol, the Easy TCA Pain Control peel is our medium peel. This treatment is done over four sessions. With this peel, the chemical TCA – Trichloroacetic acid – causes the top cells of the skin to die off, so that the skin can begin producing a new outer layer. The treatment itself takes about 15-30 minutes and is virtually painless due to the added pain relief found in the peeling liquid. The duration of this treatment depends on the area to be treated.

The consultation from A to Z
Before treatment, a dermatologist will assess your skin and advise you on possible treatment options. The dermatologist also discusses the necessary treatment plan and aftercare to achieve the desired results. When undergoing treatment you should also read Skin Tech Pharma’s product leaflets carefully and follow this advice carefully! You’ll receive these brochures during the consultation with the specialist.
We also take photos for your medical records today. After the consultation, you’ll be aware of everything about the treatment: from our honest advice about the expected result, to risks, aftercare, and costs. We advise all our clients to quit smoking around the time of treatment. The same applies to the use of nicotine patches and gum.
An initial consultation involves a €50 consultation fee, which will be deducted from the treatment price.
The TCA peel
This TCA peel consists of four treatments, as follows:
After the skin is cleaned and prepared, trichloroacetic acid is applied to the skin. This can be applied on your face, neck, décolletage or backs of hands, or a combination of these. The depth of treatment is tailored to each client individually so that we achieve the best possible results with the least possible risk. After the peel is applied, a special ointment is then applied to the skin. This cream will calm your skin and offer additional pain relief benefits. You should leave this cream on for the rest of the day. If all goes well after treatment, you can go home immediately after the procedure. Don’t drive yourself, make sure you arrange in advance how you will get home safely.
At home, you continue the treatment yourself using the instructions and products we provided to you. This allows you to cleanse, protect and care for your skin. These products are part of the treatment and to achieve the desired end result, it’s very important to follow our aftercare instructions carefully.
Aftercare and recovery
Before the treatment, you’ll receive detailed post-care instructions from us. After the treatment, it is normal for the skin may to experience a little swelling and redness. This usually subsides after a few days. In exceptional cases, redness after peeling persists for several weeks. In order for the new skin to emerge, your skin starts shedding. This usually occurs 3 days after treatment and peeling takes an average of 2 to 3 days.
Home treatment
At home, you continue the treatment yourself using the instructions and products we gave you. This allows you to cleanse, protect and care for your skin. These products are part of the treatment and to achieve the desired end result, it is very important to follow our aftercare instructions carefully. It’s important to take care of your skin for 6 weeks after the last session, using the products from the Skin Tech product line twice daily and according to our instructions.
Good to know
There may be temporary discoloration or decolorization of the skin after a TCA peel. In some cases, this may even be permanent. Long-term redness may also occur. To avoid these problems, you can also choose from a number of lighter peels instead of this deep peel. Every person is unique, and we choose a customized treatment in consultation with you.
In very rare cases, there can be an allergic reaction to one of the creams used during the pre- and aftercare.
After the treatment, do not expose the skin to the sun for 2 months. We recommend using a sunscreen with a high protection factor. These products are also available at MOOI Clinic.
A chemical peel also affects tattoos (such as eyebrows), as they become slightly lighter in color due to peeling.
A TCA peel makes the skin smoother and more even, but will not be as helpful against skin sagging or deep wrinkles.
We advise all our clients to quit smoking around the time of treatment. The same applies to the use of nicotine patches and gum.
Do not drink alcohol or take blood-thinning painkillers such as Aspirin and Ibuprofen.
