Counteracting skin aging (wrinkles)
Wanting to look good is of all times, however these days we all want to stay young forever; or at least look young. If you look at the photos of celebrities, such as Jennifer Lopez or Sandra Bullock you will see that they have hardly changed or aged in 10 years.
The world seems to be telling women to pursue eternal youth. Is this a realistic goal? What actually happens to your skin as you age? How can you make sure your skin still looks good in older age?
Why do we get wrinkles!
Your skin ages as you get older, starting around age 20. Skin aging becomes more visible once you pass 35. You may see wrinkles, age spots and dryness. The skin becomes thinner and loses volume.
Whether you get many or few wrinkles, and when skin aging really becomes visible, is largely hereditary. So it’s in your genes. In addition, there are other factors that contribute to skin aging. The main causative agent of is sunlight. Moreover, smoking also contributes to the appearance of wrinkles. Wrinkles increase with the amount of cigarettes and the number of years you smoke.
Is there a way to combat this skin aging?
Now if you think that all women over fifty who still look like thirty just have good genes I can help you out of that dream right away. In America, millions of treatments a year are performed with botox and fillers with the goal of making the face look younger.
Of course, if you don’t want to opt for these invasive treatments right away, there are ways to prevent aging skin as much as possible. Herewith my tips:
- The most important thing is to use a day cream with at least factor 15. It’s also best to avoid the tanning bed, and above all, stop smoking cigarettes. Not only do they give you more wrinkles, they are also proven to be bad for your health.
- Other than that, these are all obvious steps you can take to look younger:
- Eat a well-balanced healthy diet,
- Sports,
- Make sure you get enough sleep,
- Drink less alcohol,
- Cleanse your face.
The above will keep your body healthier and with that, your skin will also glow more which can give you a younger look.
Now if all of the above is insufficiently effective and you are still not completely happy with your aging face. If so, there are certainly opportunities to do something about it in a subtle way. Above all, do not immediately think of the pictures on the Internet of overflowing lips and tightly drawn faces. Often it’s small adjustments that give you a fresher look. With this type of treatment, the results are often subtle, but enough to make you happy with yourself again!
If you would like more information about the above, we welcome you.
