Cheekbone fillers

Cheekbones play an important role in creating a youthful and appealing look to the face. The cheekbones are the protruding bones just below the eyes that form the transition between the eyes and the cheeks. Filling the cheekbones gives a fresh, and younger look. At MOOI Clinic, we work with several A-brand fillers to treat your cheekbones. We’d be happy to advise you on your choices and options. Schedule a consultation with our cosmetic doctor.

Why use cheekbone fillers?

Using fillers to treat cheekbones is a popular cosmetic procedure used to add volume and definition to cheekbones. High, prominent cheekbones give a youthful appearance and is one of the hallmarks of feminine beauty. As we age, the face loses volume and the skin can begin to sag, making the cheekbones less prominent.

Adding fillers to the cheekbones can correct this loss of volume and restore fullness and firmness. In addition, cheekbone fillers can also help reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles under the eyes. Cheekbone fillers are a great solution to maintain a youthful and radiant appearance, and to age MOOI.

Cheekbones or cheek fillers, what’s the difference?

Cheekbone filling and cheek filling are somewhat similar, yet there are some differences between them. Cheekbone filling specifically focuses on raising the cheekbones to add more definition and structure to the face. It improves the bone structure of the face by providing a youthful appearance. Cheek plumping is aimed at adding volume and improving the fullness and shape of the face. Both treatments have a different effect on the overall appearance of the face and can often be performed in combination for optimal results.

What brands does MOOI Clinic work with?

At MOOI Clinic, we work exclusively with a variety of A-brand fillers to beautify your cheekbones. Our fillers are of the highest quality. At MOOI we work only with temporary fillers, as advised by the Dutch Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Dutch Society of Cosmetic Medicine. The body breaks these down within three to 18 months.

Most fillers consist of the substance hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring sugar molecule present in large quantities in our skin. Hyaluronic acid fillers are made of synthetic hyaluronic acid, which is designed to mimic the natural hyaluronic acid in the body. When hyaluronic acid fillers are injected into the skin, it acts like a sponge that attracts and retains water, improving the volume and structure of the treated area. Hyaluronic acid fillers are safe because our bodies break these substance down over time. At MOOI Clinic, we work with the A-brands of fillers: such as Belotero.

The cheekbone filler treatment

In cheekbone filler treatment, fillers are injected into the skin of the cheekbone area to add more volume and definition to the face. The treatment begins with a consultation with one of our specialists to assess your facial contours and discuss your desired results. During the consultation, we’ll discuss the different filler options, risks and benefits of treatment.

The treatment itself usually takes no longer than 15 minutes. The doctor may apply a numbing cream if necessary, to reduce the discomfort of the injections. Next, the doctor will carefully inject the filler into the cheekbones with a thin needle to increase volume. Treatment of cheekbones with fillers are a relatively quick and simple procedure with MOOI results. The effect of the filler treatment is immediately visible.

After treatment

After a cheekbone filler treatment, you don’t need any recovery time and there is no pain afterwards. In a few cases, bruising, some redness or minor swelling develops. These side effects are mild and disappear within a few days to a week. You may feel the filler during the first two weeks. But don’t worry, this isn’t visible and disappears after two weeks.

It’s important to rest your skin for the first 24 hours after treatment. Try to avoid strenuous exercise, sunlight and the use of makeup on the cheekbones.

Treating the cheekbones gives a MOOI result. You’ll see a youthful, fresh look and find your cheekbones MOOI again.

FAQ

The duration of the effect of cheekbone fillers varies from person to person and depends on several factors. Such as the type of filler used, the amount injected and the individual response based on a person’s age, skin type, muscle activity and lifestyle.

In general, the results of cheekbone fillers can last up to 1 to 1.5 years before a follow-up appointment is needed. This means that during this period you will have a smoother and more youthful appearance. As time passes, the filler is gradually broken down by the body and the volume of the cheekbones may slowly decrease.

The amount of filler needed to fill cheekbones varies from person to person and depends on several factors, such as the degree of correction desired and the type of filler used. Generally, 1 to 2 ml of filler per side is used when filling the cheekbones.

The treatment can be slightly uncomfortable, however, there is anesthetic in the filler itself which makes the treatment less painful. Moreover, the treatment takes only a few minutes, so the discomfort is short-lived.

As with any filler treatment, there is a chance of bruising. Another risk associated with filler treatment is accidentally clogging a blood vessel with filler. However, the risk is very small. If this happens it is easily remedied with a solvent.
