Jawline filler treatment: for a tighter jawline

A jawline filler treatment is a procedure in which fillers are injected into the jawline to enhance or strengthen it. The purpose of a jawline filler is to give the jawline more definition and give the face a more streamlined appearance. At MOOI Clinic, we work with several A-brand fillers to treat your jawline at our private clinic in Maastricht. We’re happy to advise you on choices and options. Why a tighter jawline?

A tighter jawline is often associated with youthfulness and attractiveness. Due to the natural aging process, the skin loses its elasticity and bone mass, making the jawline less defined. The skin starts to droop and the jawline weakens, making your face look tired or sagging. It’s possible that you were also naturally born with a flabbier jawline. A well-defined jawline is often associated with power and dominance in men, so it can help create a more confident look by creating an even more MOOI version of yourself.

With aging, we lose volume in the face and the skin droops, creating the sagging jawline. With the influence of gravity, the fat compartments in your skin shift and sink. The excess skin creates a pouch or crease; this appearance is called hamster cheeks. A tighter jawline contributes to a youthful and refined appearance.

Some people are naturally born with a less defined jawline, making them feel insecure about their facial proportions. In these cases, jawline filler treatment may also be an option to enhance the jawline and make the face more symmetrical.

What are the options for removing hamster cheeks?

There are two options for removing hamster cheeks. The first option is fillers, with filler treatment we can (temporarily) add more volume to the areas of the face where fatty tissue has diminished, largely eliminating hamster cheeks. Adding volume to the cheeks can help create a fuller and more youthful appearance.

A more permanent treatment is a facelift. For example, an S-lift, MACS lift or a full facelift. During a facelift, excess skin is removed and the underlying tissue is tightened to rejuvenate the contours of the face. This can help reduce the full look of the cheeks and tighten the skin around them.

Jawline filler to strengthen contours

A jawline filler treatment is an effective way to contour the face and define the jawline. During treatment, an appropriate filler is injected into the jawline and/or chin to add volume and improve facial contours.

Jaw line filler for hamster cheeks

A jawline filler treatment can be used for hamster cheeks to strengthen the jawline and improve facial contours. Hamster cheeks are caused by the loss of volume in the face. By adding volume to the jawline, the treatment can help fill in the area between the cheeks and jawline and improve facial contours.

What brands does MOOI Clinic work with?

At MOOI Clinic, we work exclusively with a variety of A-brand fillers to give you a tighter jawline. Our fillers are of the highest quality. At MOOI we work only with temporary fillers, as advised by the Dutch Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Dutch Society of Cosmetic Medicine. The body breaks these down on its own within three to 18 months.

Most fillers consist of the substance hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring sugar molecule present in large quantities in our skin. Hyaluronic acid fillers are made of synthetic hyaluronic acid, which is designed to mimic the natural hyaluronic acid in the body. When hyaluronic acid fillers are injected into the skin, it acts like a sponge that attracts and retains water, improving the volume and structure of the treated area. Hyaluronic acid fillers are safe because our bodies break down the substance over time. At MOOI Clinic we work with the A-brands of fillers such as: Belotero.

The filler treatment

In jawline filler treatment, fillers are injected to enhance contours or reduce hamster cheeks. This creates a younger, more powerful and fuller look. The treatment begins with a consultation with one of our specialists to assess your facial contours and discuss your desired results. During the consultation, we’ll tell you about the different filler options, risks and benefits of treatment.

The treatment itself usually takes no longer than 30 minutes. The doctor will first apply a numbing cream to reduce the discomfort of the injections. Next, the doctor will carefully inject the filler into the jawline with a thin needle to increase volume and tighten the skin. Jawline filler treatment is a relatively quick and simple procedure with MOOI results. The effect of treatment with fillers is immediately visible.

After treatment

After a jawline filler treatment, you basically don’t need any recovery time and there is no after pain. In a few cases, bruising, some redness or minor swelling develops. These side effects are mild and disappear within a few days to a week. You may feel the filler during the first two weeks. But don’t worry, this isn’t visible and disappears after two weeks.

It’s important to rest your skin for the first 24 hours after the after treatment. Try to avoid strenuous exercise, sunlight and the use of makeup on treated skin.

A treatment for a tighter jawline gives MOOI results. You’ll have a fresh and youthful appearance because your face will have a more structured look.

FAQ

The duration of the effect of jawline filler treatment varies from person to person and depends on several factors. Such as the type of filler used, the amount injected and the individual response based on a person’s age, skin type, muscle activity and lifestyle.

Generally, the results of jawline filler treatment can last up to 1.5 years before a follow-up appointment is needed. This means you will have a more powerful and youthful appearance during this period. As time passes, the body gradually breaks down the filler and the old jawline may return.

The amount of filler needed for jawline filler treatment varies from person to person and depends on several factors, such as the degree of correction desired and the type of filler used. In general, between 2 and 3ml of filler is often used to treat the jawline. Often this is also done with the Radiesse filler.

As with any filler treatment, there is a chance of bruising. Another risk associated with filler treatment is accidentally clogging a blood vessel with filler. However, the risk is very small. If this happens it is easily remedied with a solvent.
